It was founded in 1922 and is seen by many people as a Canadian institution, it even has its own money.  Canadian Tire is noticed by many as Canada's number one store when it comes to the needs of Customer Service, Housewares, Sports, Pets, Seasonal gift ideas, Electronics, Automotive and a Vehicle Service Department. They are in big competition with many American retailers such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot and other United States retailers, but it has not stopped them from being a successful Canadian retailer.
